COVID-19 Update and Expanded Services
Due to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, OrthoRehab Specialists has expanded service hours and treatment options to better meet your needs. We are now open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. These extended hours are intended to provide patients with flexible scheduling and reduced clinic traffic, ensuring a safer, more convenient experience for all. Our Edina location also offers outdoor treatment options for patients seeking additional precautions.
We continue to offer in-person treatment at our Minneapolis and Edina clinics for patients considered essential or those who independently choose in-person care. We have gone above and beyond to maintain a clean, safe, and healing environment that meets and exceeds health and safety recommendations. For patients who prefer to stay home, we also provide comprehensive virtual treatment through TeleHealth. Our physical therapists have been conducting TeleHealth visits successfully for several months and are confident in delivering high-value care remotely.
TeleHealth at OrthoRehab
TeleHealth services enable you to receive expert guidance and treatment without needing to leave your home. These virtual visits include real-time evaluations, corrective exercise instruction, and progress tracking. We use HIPAA-compliant platforms to protect your privacy and ensure seamless interaction between you and your physical therapist. Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, or seeking preventative strategies, TeleHealth is a convenient, effective alternative to in-person visits. Learn more about how virtual care works by visiting our page on TeleHealth Physical Therapy.
Here is an example of a typical interaction with one of our therapists via TeleHealth:
Clinic Safety Protocols
We are committed to maintaining the highest level of safety for all patients and staff. Our clinics follow strict protocols including:
- Frequent handwashing by staff before and after every patient interaction
- Hourly disinfection of all surfaces including knobs, counters, chairs, and exercise equipment
- Sanitizing all treatment tables before and after every session
- Mandatory mask-wearing for all providers and strongly encouraged for patients
- Temperature and oxygen level screening upon patient check-in
In addition to these safety measures, we ensure proper ventilation in our clinics by maintaining high-efficiency air filters and regularly servicing HVAC systems. Our waiting areas have been reconfigured to allow for physical distancing, and we have installed contactless check-in stations at both the Edina and Minneapolis locations.
Patient Responsibilities
To help protect our community, we ask all patients to:
- Use hand sanitizer upon arrival at the clinic
- Reschedule your appointment if you experience any of the following:
- Fever or chills
- Cough or respiratory symptoms
- Shortness of breath
- Contact with a person diagnosed or suspected to have COVID-19
- Recent international travel
We also recommend that patients avoid bringing guests to their appointment unless necessary for medical assistance. If a support person must accompany you, we ask that they follow all clinic safety guidelines, including wearing a mask and using hand sanitizer. For those interested in learning more about safety recommendations and updates on clinic practices, we encourage you to check out our COVID-19 Updates page.
In addition to TeleHealth and in-clinic appointments, we offer patient education resources online to help you stay informed and proactive in your care. Visit our blog or follow us on Facebook for tips on maintaining health at home, staying active, and managing pain through guided exercises and self-care strategies.
We believe in a whole-body approach to recovery that integrates physical health with mental and emotional well-being. Our therapists offer holistic care strategies that address stress, anxiety, and motivation, recognizing that these factors can significantly impact physical healing and long-term health outcomes. Our physical therapy services include mindfulness-based techniques and personalized coaching to help patients remain focused and encouraged throughout the recovery process.
Furthermore, our therapists are constantly updating their practices with the latest research and continuing education to bring evidence-based care to every patient interaction. We evaluate individual progress closely and adjust care plans in real-time to ensure the best possible outcomes. We encourage open communication with your provider, including sharing concerns or goals that arise during your treatment course. Your voice is essential in crafting a plan that truly works for you.
OrthoRehab also collaborates with primary care providers and specialists to streamline the continuum of care. If you have recently been discharged from surgery or are navigating a chronic condition like arthritis, tendonitis, or lower back pain, our team can coordinate with your medical team to ensure therapy aligns with your overall health goals. This team-based approach promotes long-term success and can help reduce the likelihood of re-injury.
We have also implemented support for patients managing long COVID symptoms, including fatigue, shortness of breath, and deconditioning. Our therapists are trained to approach post-viral recovery with sensitivity and gradual progression to help rebuild strength and endurance over time. We believe in holistic recovery that addresses both physical and emotional health.
In addition, we continue to monitor updates from the CDC, state health departments, and public health experts to ensure our practices reflect the latest safety recommendations. If there are any significant updates, we will post them on our COVID-19 page and communicate directly with scheduled patients. Transparency and communication are central to how we operate.
We understand that many people are juggling work, caregiving, and health concerns, which is why our flexible scheduling and access to both in-person and remote care remains so vital. If you need help determining which approach is best for you, just give us a call. We’ll walk you through your options and help create a plan that aligns with your goals and comfort level.
Beyond treatment sessions, our staff is also available to answer general questions about insurance coverage, scheduling logistics, and how to maximize your physical therapy benefits. If you’re unsure how to get started or want to refer a friend or family member, we are here to assist. We welcome referrals from healthcare providers, employers, and patients directly. Our intake process is simple and patient-friendly, ensuring you receive care quickly without unnecessary delays.
We’ve also enhanced our intake forms and patient education packets so that you can complete necessary paperwork online prior to your first appointment. This minimizes time spent in common areas and allows your therapist to begin your treatment with a clear understanding of your needs. If you have questions about the forms or need technical help, our administrative team is happy to guide you through it.
