What situation or injury led you to ORSI?
I had recurring headaches for years, and my neurologist recommended I see Carol at OrthoRehab Specialists for specialized evaluation and treatment.
How would you categorize your story?
My journey has been one of learning how my body functions, gaining insight into the root causes of my headaches, and achieving a significant reduction in both frequency and intensity thanks to Carol and Lana’s expertise and support.
Please share your experience.
From the moment I walked into the clinic, I felt heard and understood. Carol began with a comprehensive assessment that explored my posture, neck mobility, and muscle tension patterns. She explained how restrictions in the upper cervical spine and tightness in the suboccipital muscles can refer pain into the head. Lana joined in to demonstrate gentle manual techniques and guided me through my first series of corrective exercises. Their clear communication and compassionate approach immediately put me at ease.
Over the next several weeks, each session built on the one before. Carol used targeted manual therapy to restore motion in my neck joints and relieve tension in my shoulder girdle. Lana taught me precise stretches to decompress my spine and activate deep neck flexors. Together they introduced pressure point release techniques around the base of my skull, which helped interrupt the “headache loop” I had been stuck in for so long.
They provided detailed, illustrated handouts and guided me through each movement until I felt confident. They emphasized proper breathing patterns to reduce muscle guarding and taught me how to recognize early warning signs when a headache might be brewing. Their feedback was always positive and encouraging, and they adjusted my plan whenever I had a flare-up or new symptom.
What goals did OrthoRehab help you accomplish?
Carol and Lana empowered me to:
- Reduce my reliance on pain medication by learning self-management techniques
- Perform daily neck and shoulder mobility exercises that prevent muscle tightness
- Improve my posture at work by setting up an ergonomic workstation
- Integrate stress-reduction breathing drills into my routine
- Track headache frequency and identify triggering factors
- Return to my normal activities and hobbies without fear of severe headaches
As a result, I now experience headaches only occasionally and with much lower intensity. I feel confident that I have the tools to manage minor discomfort on my own. My overall quality of life has improved dramatically.

- Will insurance cover my visits?
- We accept most major insurance plans. Our staff will verify your benefits, explain copays and deductibles, and assist with any necessary authorizations.
