Rehabilitation is a health concept that encompasses recovery from a musculoskeletal injury, chronic condition or orthopedic surgery. Rehab was a common term used to define a practice of rehabilitating of muscles, tendons, ligaments to restore function and mobility, largely through specialized exercises.
At OrthoRehab, we broaden the definition, extending it into a physical, hands-on therapy. We continue the practice of exercise rehabilitation, but we combine that with a more progressive approach of physical therapy that incorporates manual therapy focusing on joint and soft tissue restriction, restoration of movement and function, plus education of injury and future prevention. This approach is effective and efficient, so much so, that we believe if you don’t see progress within three weeks, we will consult with your physician or recommend a different course of action.
